List Editor - Expressions in Lists

Send comments on this topic.

Text based lists can contain property expression items as well as explicit text items. A typical scenario for a list of property expressions is to provide a variety of formatting options for model extents. You can control the export and formatting of model and flat pattern extent values in an iPropWiz configuration. You might supply a list of property expressions for a custom property named size that enabled the user to select the formatting (i.e. X x Y x Z, or Y x X x Z, or some other options.

Workflow:

1.Edit a text based list.

2.Click an existing row, or enter any character (= is the recommended character) in the value cell for a new row.

3.Click the Expression Editor button to the right of the current row.

4.Use the expression editor to build the property expression to be displayed as a list item. See the Expression Editor page for more information.

Note: You can optionally type the expression directly in the value cell. All expressions must start with an equal sign (=). Property names must be placed between pointy brackets (i.e. <prop_name> )
