iPropWiz includes an Excel file import utility for all types of lists. You can import from both XLS and XLSX files.

To import values and descriptions into a list, use the following work flow.

In the List Editor, click the Import list values from Excel button.

A File Open dialog is displayed. Browse to and select a .xls or .xlsx file that contains the list data.

From the Sheet drop down list, select the name of the work sheet containing the list items.

In the Start Cell edit box, enter the cell name that meets the criteria for the starting location when the data is imported,. See the example Excel file for more information.

Click OK. The list is populated with the imported data.

Notes: A sample Excel file is shipped with iPropWiz that contains formatting examples for all list types. The default location for this file is C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Inventor Addins\C-Cubed\iPropWiz7\iPropWiz7.xx\Help\List Import Sample.xlsx Once the list values are imported, no link is maintained to the Excel data. When you import list items from a spreadsheet, all existing list items are removed. The import halts when the first blank cell in the value or primary value column is reached. A maximum of 999 items will be imported for all list types except Tree lists. A limit of 999 values per category is enforced for Tree lists |
