List Editor - Simple Text List

Send comments on this topic.

A simple text list has a list of values, and can optionally display a description for each value. You can also specify if the user will be able to select one or more values from the list, and how to format multiple selection values.

Click the button to view a video that demonstrates how to create and edit simple text lists.

You can sort the list by clicking the header of the Order, Value, or Description column. Click a second time to reverse the sort order. You can reorder items in the list by using a common drag and drop workflow.

Multiple value selection

Toggle on to enable users to select multiple values from the list when the list is assigned to a property and displayed in the iPropWiz Property Editor. Toggle off to restore single selection only.

Value separator and spaces

If Multiple value selection is ON, specify the separator character that will be placed between selected values when assigned to the Inventor iProperty. A comma is the default separator. Toggle on Remove spaces to eliminate the space after the separator. For example, without removing the spaces a multiple selection value might appear as VALUE1, VALUE2. With the spaces remove, the value would appear as VALUE1,VALUE2.

Delete rows

Delete the currently selected rows. You can select multiple rows by using standard Ctrl and Shift selection methods and clicking the row headers.

Row description

Hide/show the description column in both the List Editor and when the list is shown in the iPropWiz Property Editor ( PE ).

Expression editor

List values can be property expressions. Click the button to display the Property Expression Editor. See the Expressions In Lists page for more information.

Note: If you access the Expression Editor from the List Editor, the Property Extraction Rule editor is not available.

Insertion row

Enter new value and description information here. Press Enter to add the new row to the list. You must fill in a unique value, the description field can be left blank. If you want an Expression for the list value, enter and fixed value first, and then build an expression using the Expression editor.

Note: List additions and edits are saved to disk when you save the current configuration from the iPropWiz Configuration Editor.
