Exception text

Enter the text that will be excluded from capitalization when a property value is capitalized.

All characters in the exception are considered when looking for matches in the property value. Space characters may be difficult to see.

If the exception needs to include a numeric value, use <#> as a placeholder for any number. The second capitalization in the above image includes a numeric value reference.

Keep exceptions involving numeric values as simple as possible. The rules are applied on a single pass through the property value.

For example, an exception written as "<#> x <#>" would be more successful if written as "<#> x"

Test value for capitalization

Enter a value you would like to test the capitalization exception(s) against. Any text is permitted.

Test capitalization exception(s)

The following image shows the results of two tests against the text in the Initial Value text box. The configuration contains the two capitalization exceptions shown in the main image above ( "x " and "<#>mm" ).

In both test the current capitalization exception is "x "

In the left side test, the Test only the current exception button is clicked. The "x " text instances are not capitalized but the "<#>mm" exception is not processed.

In the right side test, the Test all exceptions button is clicked. The "x " text instances are not capitalized and the "<#>mm" text is also left uncapitalized.

Test result

The result of applying the capitalization exception(s) against the Initial Value text is displayed here.

Note: Capitalization exceptions are local to the iPropWiz configuration. They must be defined in each iPropWiz configuration where they are used.
