Property update on selection change override

If the iPropWiz Property Editor is open and active, you can change the selected documents by one of the following methods.

Opening, editing in place, or switching to another Autodesk Inventor document window.

Selecting different occurrences (or clearing all selected occurrences) in an Autodesk Inventor assembly.

Selecting a sheet, view, or part within a view in an Autodesk Inventor drawing.

Changing the selection in the iPropWiz document browser in a drawing or assembly.

When the selection changes, iPropWiz checks to see if the current selection of documents has updates pending due to changes entered in the iPropWiz Property Editor that have not been applied, or to automatic property updates that have not been applied. The current iPropWiz configuration includes a setting on how iPropWiz handles this.

The options here enable you to override this configuration setting and apply a new default action for this situation.

Turn ON the Override configuration setting check box to enable the override.

Turn OFF the Override configuration setting check box to restore the setting from the active iPropWiz configuration.

With the override active, select an default action to apply when out of date properties are detected when you change the selected document(s).

Update extents on file save

These two settings control the update of model extents when a part or assembly document is saved.

ON: The part or assembly extents are calculated and updated ( if required ) before the document is saved.

OFF: The part or assembly extents are not updated before the document is saved.

Note: The extents update override toggle button  on the iPropWiz Property Editor toolbar can override the checked settings here. It cannot turn on the calculations, only override them to prevent updates on save. See the Property Editor - Toolbar page for more information.

Property editor positioning

To overcome limitations of keyboard navigation in Autodesk Inventor docked panels, iPropWiz 7 uses a modeless Windows form for the iPropWiz Property Editor. You can obtain much of the docked panel functionality by docking the iPropWiz Property Editor ( PE ) to the left or right edge of the Autodesk Inventor window. When docked, the PE resizes and moves to match the height and position of the Autodesk Inventor window. Any changes to the height of the Autodesk Inventor window are matched by the PE.

Activate the Lock Property Editor to Inventor window option to activate the automatic positioning of the PE. Turn it OFF to restore a floating window for the PE.

Click the Left or Right option button to chose the Inventor window edge.

The following image shown the PE locked to the left edge of the Inventor widow, with all columns except property name and value hidden from view.

Numeric property editor

Turn ON this option to display a drop down calculator for editable numeric values. Turn OFF to restore the default, direct numeric entry only.

Document browser behavior

Turn ON this option to have all nodes expanded when you change to an assembly or drawing document. If OFF, only the first level children are displayed initially.

Spell Check Options

The default settings for spell checking property values are set in the iPropWiz Configuration Editor and stored in the iPropWiz configuration. In the iPropWiz Property Editor Option dialog, you can always override the Spell Check Options settings but access to dictionary settings is typically disabled. The following table outlines the spell check options in the PE.

Dictionary selection

If enabled, you may be able to chose a new dictionary language, custom dictionary, and have access to directly edit the current custom dictionary in Notepad.

Select dictionary language

If enabled, select a new dictionary language from the drop down list. Your iPropWiz administrator can download and add new dictionary languages.

Custom dictionary selection

If enabled, select a new custom dictionary from the drop down list. The custom dictionary stores the words added through the "Add to dictionary" context menu item.

Edit custom dictionary

If enabled, click to edit the active custom dictionary in Notepad. Each word in the dictionary is on a separate line.

Spell check options

Turn ON/OFF to include/exclude the specific option,.
