Installing Support Files

Send comments on this topic.

As an iPropWiz administrator you may be required to install support files such as a floating license server, a local version of the help system, or dictionaries and language packs for your installation of iPropWiz 7. The following sections outline the process to install or update these support files. Many of these updates can be accomplished by placing the support files in a specific folder. When users next start Autodesk Inventor, the support files are copied to the correct location on the user's computer without user intervention.

Installing / Updating Local Help

The help system for iPropWiz 7 defaults to a web based system. If you cannot use a web based solution, you can download a help file that can replace the web based help. To install or update the local help file:

      1.

In the folder containing your iPropWiz configuration files, ensure there is a folder named Updates

Tip: The location of your configurations folder is displayed in the title bar of both the iPropWiz Configuration Editor, and the iPropWiz Property Editor.

             2.

Check for the latest version of the local iPropWiz 7 help file on the iPropWiz 7 home page.

Tip: You can access the iPropWiz 7 home page from the iPropWiz Configuration Editor tools menu.

3.

Download the latest local help file (zip file).

4.

Unzip the file and place the extracted iPropWiz 7.chm file in the \Updates folder referenced in step 1. If the folder contains a previous version of the local help file, overwrite the existing file.

5.

The next time a user starts Autodesk Inventor, the local help file is copied to the required location on the user's computer. No user interaction is required. All subsequent help requests will be directed to the local help system.

Notes

If a problem is encountered during the update process, the user is informed that a manual update is required. You can manually copy the help file to the appropriate location on each user's computer.

oThe install location for the iPropWiz 7 local help file is C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Inventor Addins\C-Cubed\iPropWiz7\
