Add-in Licensing in Autodesk Inventor 2025 and later

 Starting with Autodesk Inventor 2025, a new licensing scheme for C-Cubed add-ins is required. Existing local and floating licenses for earlier Autodesk Inventor versions are not affected by this change. For Autodesk Inventor 2025 and later versions, both local and floating licenses are replaced with a web based floating license. The activation process for these add-ins is similar to the current process but requires one extra step (see below).

  • Existing customers are automatically granted new licenses that total the sum of their existing local and floating licenses.
  • Existing customer maintenance terms apply to these new licenses.
  • Changes to license numbers are easily implemented for both existing and new licenses.


Trial License

 When you download and install (full installation) a C-Cubed add-in for Autodesk Inventor 2025 or later, a 30 day trial license is included. When you start Autodesk Inventor you will receive a notification of the current state of your trial license. Click Try to activate a fully functional trial version of the add-in. Click Cancel to load Autodesk Inventor without the add-in.




Activate a Web Based Floating License

 The Activate button in the notification dialog will not be enabled when you are running under the trial license. The following notes apply to enable activation of your license.
  • New customers must purchase one or more licenses. On purchase, a unique license and activation code will be emailed to you.
  • For existing customers, contact us at C-Cubed sales for your unique license. The activation code provided for your previous license(s) remains valid and will be confirmed to you.
  • Instructions on updating the license will be emailed with the license and activation code.


With a valid, non-trial license in place, you will be prompted to activate the license for the current computer when you next start Autodesk Inventor. Click the Activate button to start the process.




In the License Activation dialog, enter the License Key sent to you with your license. Click Activate.







If the activation is successful, click Done to complete the activation. If an error was encountered, an informational message is displayed.







Deploying C-Cubed Add-ins for Autodesk Inventor 2025+
  • Once activated on a machine, a floating license is acquired when Autodesk Inventor is started on the machine.
  • The floating license is released when Autodesk Inventor is closed.
  • If the maximum number of floating licenses are in use, other users will not be able to obrtain a license until a user with an aquired floating license closes Autodesk Inventor.
  • Since all licenses are now floating licenses, you are free to install the add-in with the non-trial license, and activate the license on any machine that may required access to the add-in.
